Afternoons and evenings in Venice in March

Learning a language is much more than being familiar with its grammar rules: it also entails learning in-depth about the culture it represents. Included in the course price the possibility to improve your knowledge of Italian culture thanks to the social activities.


  • Monday 1st march, seminar on Venetian dialect: brief introduction to Venetian songs meeting: at school at 3.00 pm with Ilaria.
  • Tuesday 2nd march, walk around the school’s surroundings in Dorsoduro district, meeting: at school at 4.00 pm with Andrea.

  • Wednesday 3rd march, cinema at school: Io non ho paura by G.Salvatores, meeting: at school at 3.00 pm with Sara.

  • Thursday 4th march, visit to Rialto market early in the morning, meeting: on Rialto Bridge at 7.45 am with Marina.

  • Friday 5th march, reading aloud at Marina’s house, meeting: in Campo Santa Maria Nova at 4 pm with Marina.

  • Monday 8th  march, seminar on Venetian dialect: second meeting, meeting: at school at 3.00 pm with Ilaria.

  • Tuesday 9th  march, walk around San Marco district: not only Piazza S.Marco, meeting: in campo Santo Stefano  at 3.00 pm with Andrea.

  • Wednesday 10th  march, word-puns: playing with Taboo, meeting: at school at 3.30 pm with Sara.

  • Thursday 11th  march, walk around Santa Croce district: from San Pantalon to San Giacomo Dell’Orio, meeting: at school at 3.30 pm with Andrea.

  • Friday 12th  march, ombre e ciacole al bacaro (drink and chat at the bacaro) meeting: at school at 6 pm with Andrea.

  • Monday 15th  march, seminar on Venetian dialect: third meeting, meeting: at school at 3.00 pm with Ilaria.

  • Tuesday 23rd  march, visit to a venetian glass-beads handicraft laboratory, meeting in Campo S.Maria Nova at 3.30 pm with Marina.

  • Wednesday 24th  march, cinema at school: Pranzo di Ferragosto by G. Di Gregorio, meeting at school at 3.30 pm with Sara.

  • Thursday 25th  march, on the track of famous ancient venetians, meeting at school at 3.30 pm with Andrea.

  • Friday 26th  march, art and Venetian gourmand traditions: palaces, churches and… hot chocolate! meeting at school at 4 pm with Andrea.

At school
Thanks to the afternoon activities at school you can improve your language skills: there are grammar workshops, thematic lectures, discussions on films or on literature, italian songs. The programme is updated weekly in order to offer you a wide variety of choices. All activities are free. Only in some cases students pay for entrance tickets or transport.
Around the city
Thanks to the experience of our assistants we organise afternoon excursions and walking tour that allow you to expand your knowledge about Venetian history, art, traditions and daily life.
These are some examples of our activities:

  • Artistic itinerary: museums and art exhibitions.
  • Itinerary about the local handcraft: visit to the glass and mask workshops and the squeri (where the gondolas are made).
  • Historic itinerary: walks around the historical areas of the city.
  • Gastronomic itinerary: walks around Rialto market (one of the greatest markets in the world), visit to local bacari and trattorie, tasting local dishes and wine, cooking lessons.
Open air activities
You can discover the city also by doing sport activities: trekking in the islands of the lagoon, bicycle trips on Venice Lido and in addition the possibility of becoming members of the CUS (Sport University Centre) where you can learn voga alla veneta (rowing), play soccer, volleyball and so on. Visiting the surroundings
Venice is not the only destination of our trips, we also organise one-day excursions to some of the most interesting cities near Venice, such as Padua, Treviso, Verona, Ferrara, Riviera del Brenta Villas in order for you to enjoy the beautiful landscape around Venice and to explore the historical cities in the region.
