Our courses will prepare you for the CILS and CELI exam since they allow you to improve all the linguistic and communicative aspects required. However, for a more targeted preparation you should take additional individual classes.
You can choose a Combined course 1 or a Combined course 2 and ask for a specific preparation for CILS or CELI exam.
What are these exams?
The certification of Italian as a Foreign Language (CILS) is the official title that denotes the degree of linguistic competency of Italian as a foreign language. The CILS is awarded by the University of Siena for Foreigners and is recognized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The CELI is awarded by the University of Perugia for Foreign Affairs. They are recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
What are they for?
The CILS and the CELI are useful for those who study Italian, who work and study within an Italian context, and for those who wish to evaluate their Italian language skills. Each CILS and CELI level refers to the ability to communicate in different contexts and situations.
Locations and dates
Abroad, the exam may be taken at Italian Institutes of Culture as well as at other selected venues. In Italy, the exam takes place at the University of Siena for Foreigners and at other selected sites. The CILS exams are scheduled twice a year, at the beginning of June and December, on the same day in all test sites. For more information about CELI dates and places: CVCL.
